VirtuaWrapper is a clientless application virtualization technology; this means you can take a Windows application, package it and run it on a machine without the need for elevated privliges or installation.
Wraptor SOS is a product based on VirtuaWrapper which uses application virtualization to fix a specific problem that organizations and admins encounter when deploying remote access in a disaster recovery or business continuity scenario:
- Getting users connected to the corporate systems from machines beyond the corporate perimeter
- Getting users who don't normally use remote access to remember the URL for the VPN
- How to 'close the door' once the event has passed
How it works
The administrator creates a Wraptor client package and publishes it to an easy remember location, for example, the employee page on the corporate web site.
The user simply downloads the package and can choose to install on it their local hard drive or removeable media, enters their username and password into the wizard and they are taken automaticaly to the corporate VPN in the same manner as Wraptor Remote.
Wraptor SOS provides DR on Demand.
It allows an organization to push out remote access swiftly and easily at a time when they need to minize calls to the support desk and are concerned with controlling access to their corporate systems during and after the DR or BCP event.
